RCD Nexus Day

RCD Nexus Day is an official PEARC co-located event with no additional cost to attend. Attendees must be registered for PEARC26 and wearing their conference badge. The event will be held at the main conference venue, the Minneapolis Convention Center. Attendees will select one of two specialized tracks: Building Onramps: Developing a Guide to Facilitate Entry into the RCD Profession – or – Next-Generation RCD Capabilities Assessment: A Community-informed Refresh of the CaRCC Capabilities Model. Pre-registration is required

Facilitating AI Use Cases on RCD Resources: Community-Informed Professional Development Materials

After RCD professionals articulated significant and growing desires for peer engagement and professional development materials around AI Facilitation during the PEARC24-colocated RCD Nexus Day, an AI Facilitation Materials Working Group has been producing such materials in response to those desires. These include a PEARC25-published set of RCD-varying AI use cases across the AI research project lifecycle, a re-usable webinar materials on requesting via the resources via the National AI Research Resource Pilot, and a dynamic online resource that encourages ongoing community contributions to planned phases of content on RCD-specific considerations across AI use cases in the published life cycle. This BOF will briefly review progress to-date and engage PEARC26 attendees in breakout discussion to ensure that in-progress and future materials continue to reflect the evolving professional development desires of the RCD professional community, from student and early-career perspectives to experienced RCD professionals and leaders.

Join CaRCC leadership and your fellow RCD professionals for our annual Town Hall, a panel discussion and open community forum. Learn about progress toward CaRCC’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, hear the latest from CaRCC’s Working and Interest Groups, and learn how we’ll be celebrating CaRCC’s 10th anniversary year. We will then open the floor for dialogue with the CaRCC community. If you’ve volunteered, participated, or simply benefited from what CaRCC has built, this session is for you. And if you’re new to CaRCC, there’s no better moment to see what this community is about. Come ready to listen, ask questions, and help shape what comes next!
