- From the NSF: U.S. NAIRR pilot brings cutting-edge AI resources to researchers across the Nation: Launched in January 2024 as the first step toward a future national AI research infrastructure, NAIRR pilot partners have been working rapidly to connect a broad cohort of researchers and educators with essential AI research resources. - NAIRR Pilot Project Researcher Showcase November 8, 2024 at 9:00am MDT. Please register. Panelists who are specializing in various AI projects will provide a brief overview of their work and speak about their motivations, challenges, and engagement with the NAIRR community. Representatives from the NAIRR effort will answer questions and provide a brief overview. For anyone of any skill level interested in being involved with NAIRR or AI research and education.
- Take the SGX Survey on NAIRR Pilot Portal: Your input is invaluable in ensuring that the NAIRR Portal meets the diverse needs of our AI community and empowers researchers from all backgrounds to innovate and address critical societal challenges. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes, and all responses will be anonymized and reported in aggregate to NSF. SGX3 leads this effort and provides the NAIRR Pilot Portal.

- NSF Discovery Files Podcast: Global Artificial Intelligence Research Agenda An interagency effort has crafted a document to serve as a starting point to align an international artificial intelligence research vision.
- Call for Applications: Llama 3.1 Impact Grants Due November 22, 2024: Seeking proposals that use the new features and capabilities of open source Llama 3.1 to explore how these tools can be deployed for economically and socially impactful projects.
- NSF ExpandAI Program Virtual Office Hours November 18, 2024. 3-4 p.m. NSF program directors representing different categories of minority-serving institutions will be available to answer your questions about the program. The ExpandAI program supports capacity-development projects and partnerships within the National AI Research Institutes ecosystem that help broaden participation in artificial intelligence research, education and workforce development.
- Reminder: New AI- related working and interest groups are being formed within CaRCC. The working group will focus on developing shareable learning materials for facilitating AI use cases in research and education. The interest group will convene to discuss topics related to using AI, including NAIRR Pilot resources, in support of research. - NAIRR Pilot Office Hours NAIRR Pilot will offer bi-weekly SCIPE-led Office Hours over Zoom to assist with questions related to active awards and the NAIRR Pilot call.
