Platform X – Scalable, Sustainable Infrastructure

As the demand for restricted data enclaves and longitudinal analysis environments grows, institutions must move beyond bespoke setups toward scalable, sustainable infrastructure. In this presentation, we introduce Platform X, the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health’s secure data enclave. We will discuss how we address the unique challenges of long-running research platforms – including automated security governance, cost-optimization in the cloud, and maintaining a seamless user experience – while ensuring the environment remains a continuously available service for the researchers who depend on it.
