1p ET/ 12p CT/ 11a MT/ 10a PT/ 8a HT

Sensitive Data in Research Computing – HIPAA support at the University of Utah
Presented by Wayne Bradford & Anita Orendt, University of Utah

The ever-evolving federal regulations on sensitive research data has put research facilitation in the unique position of having to provide cutting edge innovation while meeting compliance requirements from funding agencies. Setting up an enclave or secured space for computation, research surveys and databases is forcing all of us to rethink our campus cyberinfrastructure. This month in the Research-Facing call we will hear from one institution that has a HIPPA protected environment on premise. Please join us for a discussion on planning, policies, security controls, services and architecture used to support research with sensitive data.

Call Coordinates (Zoom):
Due to the recent trend in ZoomBombing, please contact the R-F Track Chairs for the Zoom call information, and please include your name and affiliation.

Remember, this Track and Community is all about you… and is yours!!

The 2022 CaRCC Parade!

CaRCC continues to grow and evolve — the People Network alone currently has over 1000 persons on its mailing list; and the working groups continue to make progress on their goals. Many persons within CaRCC and across the RCD ecosystem are “boundary spanning” — bringing groups together, sharing ideas, and helping both the RCD profession and the research & researchers we support.

Please join us for this now annual event. We will give attendees an overview & update on the organization; highlight some key, example activities and outputs of a couple Working Groups, and conclude with Engagement. This is a great time to invite new colleagues to come and learn about CaRCC, its activities, and how to Get Started or Get Involved!
