Welcome to All Things AI, your quick-hit listing of upcoming events and training related to the NAIRR Pilot and other AI Initiatives. See the complete list of NAIRR Pilot Events and Training.
June 3 Training: NVIDIA’s Fundamentals of Accelerated Data Science Join NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Institute (DLI) for a series of free, virtual faculty development workshops providing hands-on experience with GPU-accelerated servers in the cloud and instructor training from real educators in the areas of Deep Learning, Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), Data Science and Accelerated Computing.
June 5, 1pm EDT Virtual Meeting: Open OnDemand Tips and Tricks Call Join our monthly community-hosted call to learn practical tips for using this powerful, web-based platform that gives you seamless access to HPC resources—no software needed.
June 5 Training: Iowa State, Vocareum, and Google Colab: A Scalable Blueprint for AI and Data Science Instruction A practical look at how educators are using Google Colab and Vocareum to teach AI and data science at scale.
June 10 and June 24 3pm EDT: NAIRR Pilot Office Hours Office Hours are hosted by SCIPE Cyberinfrastructure Professionals (CIPs) and attended by members of the Pilot operations teams and partners who are happy to answer questions related to proposal submission and active NAIRR Pilot awards.
June 11, 1pm EDT Virtual Talk: Recent Advances in Time Series Foundation Modeling Time series foundation models are changing how we work with time-based data, similar to how large pre-trained language and vision models transformed text and image modeling. In this talk, we will briefly introduce MOMENT, one of the first families of open-source time series foundation models.
June 12, 2pm Training: COMPLECS: Code Migration We will cover typical approaches to moving your computations to HPC resources – use of applications/software packages already available on the system through Linux environment modules; compiling code from source with information on compilers, libraries, and optimization flags to use; setting up Python & R environments; use of conda based environments; managing workflows; and use of containerized solutions via Singularity.
June 24 Training: Cyberinfrastructure-Enabled Machine Learning (CIML) Summer Institute 2025 The CIML Summer Institute introduces machine learning (ML) concepts to researchers, developers and educators techniques and methods needed to migrate their ML applications from smaller, locally run resources, such as laptops and workstations, to large-scale HPC systems, such as the SDSC’s Expanse supercomputer. Participants will have the opportunity to accelerate their learning process through highly interactive classes with hands-on tutorials using SDSC’s Expanse. Apply Today!
