If you have a passion for mentorship and want to contribute, we invite you to join us. Please email workforce-mentoring-wg@carcc.org to become a part of this group and you are welcome to join our monthly calls held on the first Thursday of each month at 10am PT, 11am MT, 12pm CT, and 1pm ET. Our next call will be on April 3!
People Network Track Co-Coordinator Openings: We currently have two openings for Track Co-Coordinators. With a typical commitment of two years, with the opportunity to extend, these positions…
- Ensure the articulation of community-identified priorities for experience sharing and networking.
- Support the execution of monthly Calls reflecting those priorities, leaning on community members to share their experiences and to identify others interested in doing so.
- Coordinate & collaborate with other People Network Track Chairs, CaRCC activities and other RCD activities
- Champion Track-specific activities & outreach for CaRCC and in coordination with other RCD activities
- Expand one’s professional network and strengthen your leadership skills!
Researcher-Facing Track Co-Coordinator: We’re looking for an enthusiastic person who likes planning events that will shape professional development opportunities for RCD facilitators across the nation. If you like working on a team to motivate people to connect & meet monthly so that they can share job experiences and topics important to helping make researchers successful, then we have a volunteer spot for you.
Strategy & Policy-Facing Track Co-Coordinator: We’re looking for a current manager/aspiring leader (or someone with chutzpah!) who thinks about setting strategic directions for growing RCD professionals, along with managing RCD programs and mentoring their staff. Our volunteer position, working with the current co-chair and a team of current RCD leaders/professionals, is the opportunity to help RCD staff across the national landscape learn and improve these skills while meeting friendly colleagues and tackling tough issues facing RCD centers and programs.
People Network Steering Committee Members: The Data-Facing, Emerging Centers, & Researcher-Facing Tracks have slots open at this time.
Curious about how monthly People Networks calls happen? Have different / new ideas for monthly topics? Know of persons who would benefit from meeting colleagues or learning from the different Track Calls? If so, we’ve been waiting for you to join the Steering Committees of the People Network Tracks. Each Track has a small group of persons dedicated to planning and executing monthly Calls that shape professional development opportunities for RCD professionals across the nation; and the time commitment each month is shorter than 1:1s with your boss. The personal benefits include:
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across disciplinary & institutional boundaries
- Diversifying the breadth of Track topics as well as the community’s participation
- Opportunities to further outreach for CaRCC and work with related RCD organizations
- Expand one’s professional network and build/strengthen one’s leadership skills
CaRCC Metrics Team Members: Do you enjoy working with data, crunching numbers, and using visualizations to convey a story? Interested in trying out new approaches to understanding community dynamics while helping CaRCC reach and support RCD professionals? If so, the Metrics team is looking for several persons to assist with making sense of different data streams related to everyday CaRCC activities: YouTube video views, website visits and downloads, monthly Track Calls topic modeling & conversation analysis, just to name a few. In addition to working on a team of enthusiastic “data-facing” individuals, you’ll be able to:
- Working with colleagues across CaRCC’s Tracks and Working/Interest Groups
- Help CaRCC’s activities & benefits reach individuals and institutions that are not “visibly” involved
- Explore new approaches for thinking about complex data, including publishing reports and articles
- Expand one’s professional network and build/strengthen one’s data science skills
Please contact Bob Freeman or anyone on the Logistics team if you are interested in joining.
