Goals and Objectives
The Research Cybersecurity Interest Group (RCsIG) will discuss and develop ideas, activities, and recommended practices for action at the intersection of Research Computing and Data (RCD) Facilitation and Research Cybersecurity, with emphasis on blending populations of RCD professionals and cybersecurity professionals working in research environments.
Our Next Call: January 22, 2026
Please join us next Thursday, January 22, 2026, 11:00am to 12:00pm PT (2:00 to 3:00pm ET) for our monthly call, and share with colleagues who may also be interested in attending.
Topic: NSPM-33 research cybersecurity requirements and 2026 topic planning
IG Co-chair Will Drake (Indiana University) will kick us off with a brief status update and preview of research cybersecurity requirements under NSPM-33, along with a discussion of their practical impacts. Afterwards, we will review community member V-Cards to identify topics of greatest interest for 2026.
If you already have a V-Card, we recommend that you update it with any new topics you would like to discuss this year. If you do not have one yet, please open the link above and populate a slide with your name, home institution, role, and a suggested future topic, speaker, or discussion.
Looking forward to seeing you all next week!
RCsIG meetings are held monthly on the fourth Thursday beginning March 2025 (with time off for the holidays).
