Data-Facing Track – Sep 2026
1st Tuesday of Each Month 1p ET/ 12p CT/ 11a MT/ 10a PT/ 8a HT
Topic: Persistent Identifiers in the Research Computing and Data Ecosystem
September’s call will be a panel discussion of the importance of persistent identifiers (PIDs) for computational research and RCD resources. We’ll discuss strategies for making research computing and data storage resources citable and encouraging researchers to cite and acknowledge them in publications and other works. We’ll discuss the role of persistent identifiers like RRIDs in the context of FAIR principles and across various types of research resources, including technology-related resources (e.g. software, datasets, instruments, etc.).
Panelists will include Anita Bandarowski, researcher at UC San Diego and founder of SciCrunch; Rory Macneil, CEO of RSpace; Dave Hart, Director of Research Infrastructure Partnerships at Internet2; and Preston Smith, Executive Director of the Rosen Center for Advanced Computing at Purdue University.
Zoom details distributed via email and via the CaRCC Google Calendar. Join CaRCC’s email lists: https://members.carcc.org/
